Level 1 Trainings

About IFS Training Programs

The Center for Self Leadership offers progressive levels of training in Internal Family Systems, from beginning (Level 1) through advanced (Level 3).  As a participant in these trainings you will learn both IFS theory and technique, thus gaining the knowledge and skills you need to understand and actively use IFS with individuals, couples, children, families, and groups.

Level 1:  Mastering the Skills of IFS

Level 1 trainings are comprehensive programs in which participants develop an understanding of the conceptual basis of IFS and learn how to apply IFS techniques to various clinical populations.  Participants are also invited to explore their own inner worlds within a training's safe, nurturing context.   A select group of IFS trainers teaches Level 1s using a format that features lectures, experiential exercises, video review, large and small group discussions, and small group supervision and practice sessions.  Please see each training's website brochure for details.

Interest Lists for Level 1 Training Programs

If you are unable to participate in one of the trainings already scheduled, you may add your name to an Interest List for a prospective training in another location (see below). Once a Level 1 Interest List comprises 40 people, CSL will investigate the possibility of scheduling a training in that Interest List’s location. Being on an Interest List does not obligate you to enroll in a training, however, planning for a training can only progress if a sufficient number of people are seriously interested.
